About Adrift
My name is Richard Still and I worked in the personality testing
(psychometrics) field for twenty years. I was the programmer and developer of a tool called Online Talent Manager,
a psychometric testing system with hundreds of tests in four languages. That system was bought by a larger company
and I moved on to other things in 2017. I am still interested in personality tests and I think they can be a useful tool
for helping people, I like helping people, I am building Adrift :)
I am building Adrift:
- To provide a resource for people looking for "what's next" but needing a direction
- To provide an alternative to some of the less-than-good instruments in the commercial psychometric testing space
- To provide accurate, actionable information to normal people
But first
To do the things on that checklist, I need to have good test instruments, you can't know where you are going until you know where you are. The *engine* is built, but the tests that will power that engine need to be validated. The only way to do that is to have real humans take those tests and perform some statistical analysis on the results. The tests will be updated (bad items removed, etc) and the results of these validated tests will be solid enough to offer genuine, accurate advice on what your future direction could be.
Target Audience
A lot of the questions in these assessments are set in a workplace context and, more specifically, an office with co-workers running around. The instruments in Adrift are focused on helping people figure out "What's next?" in their career.
